Carefully prepared trip took place in early November 1984

Carefully prepared trip took place in early November 1984, after seven years - literally to the day - after my memorable flight to Mount Sinai. When my wife and I arrived in Cairo, it met a friendly reception, and all promised to help us get a helicopter for archaeological research. " While waiting, while their efforts will bear fruit, we visited those places in Egypt, where tourists usually vozyat. But those who tried to help me, it was said that my goal, in the central part of Mount Sinai, is not included in the list of archaeological sites. They are advised to enlist the support of Minister of Culture, but he was on a trip.
I am no longer able to stay in Cairo and, therefore, returned to New York, leaving no attempts to reach his goal - but all in vain. Until 1992, I visited Cairo a few times to work on the following books are still not losing hope to achieve his. By 1992, the Egyptians had withdrawn some restrictions on visits to the peninsula, and even continued the construction of tourist centers, initiated by Israelis. All these factors increase the chances of getting permission to fly to the mountain. Remained only one obstacle: the conditions of a peace treaty with Israel (at least I was told) flying over the peninsula have been allowed only the military.
Nevertheless, the visit to Egypt in 1992 became the key to the flight that eventually took place. The program of the visit was a lecture at the hotel "MEPA Noshe" - it is located near the pyramids of Giza, and served as a place of the Egyptian-Israeli negotiations - at the international conference organized by the tourist company "Power Place Tours". In the room was able to infiltrate their competitor Abbas Nadi-mu - an Egyptian who moved to the United States and established his own travel company "Vision Travel amp; Tours". When we both returned to the United States, he contacted me and invited me to take advantage of its services. I replied that I need individual tours - on the places that I did choose, and with the people who read my books.
